Clint and I had been planning the trip for 2 years. At one point I wasn't sure if it was going to work...Just with things that had come up financially and with his new job. Even though we set up a separate bank account for vacations 2 years earlier...We would have to dip into it a few times to pay for a few unexpected surgeries. Needless to say we made it work and it was THE BEST TRIP EVER and very much needed. Clint and I had not been on a trip of our own since our Honeymoon 10 years earlier.
Since this is such a long post I will break it up into several different days.

So Clint and I left on a Tuesday. We flew from San Diego to L.A. But our flight from San Diego to L.A. was delayed so then we missed our flight so Kauai. But the airline put us up in a hotel for the night. They also comped our dinner and breakfast. So we took off, got dinner and then went swimming. Got up early the next morning and caught our flight to Kauai. The flight seemed really long but I think it's because we were both so anxious to get there and both O-SO-EXCITED!
We finally landed and set off for our hotel to check in. We grabbed a quick lunch at Subway and set off to meet our good friends Aubry and Cody who happened to be there at the same time for their 10 year anniversary as well.
We went snorkeling in Poipu. It was amazing! The fish were amazing. I was really nervous at first for some reason but once I relaxed it was the best. It was so much fun spending that time with Clint out in the water. After snorkeling we went and got dinner at a yummy restaurant and then a little shopping and ice cream.
The next day we went kayaking and hiking to a beautiful waterfall. Little did we know that the hike was through mud for about 2 miles and in some areas it was knee deep. It was seriously crazy! And we were a little unprepared. Meaning we wore sandals...which means we ended up bare foot. Stepping on some rocks under the mud was not a very pleasant thing to do. Poor Clint cut his feet up pretty bad plus he fell so many times, he was COVERED in mud. It really was so fun and something we will always remember and the water fall was gorgeous.
After we got done with this we went back to our hotel and got cleaned up and just relaxed the rest of the evening. We were pretty tired after the little adventure. Now on to the next day and set of adventures.
This place was beautiful! I could not get over how gorgeous this place was and how green everything was. My favorite was the trees that would hang over the roads.
I really hope to go again some day.
