Curran's Reading

Curran has started this reading program for preschool that's called, "How to teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons"  Anyway, he is doing alright with the program.  He is still struggling with blending sounds to make a word.  He is loving the writing portion of the program.  It's super cute because now he tries to write and make up his own words and I LOVE that he is doing that.  We will keep working hard on the lessons.  It's going to be fun when it all clicks.  I sure love this boy of mine!!

Callie's 8th Birthday

I can't believe she is 8!  Where in the world did the time go?  She wanted to have a frozen birthday this year and that she got.  Well sort of.  It was just pretty simple.  She just invited a few friends and we did dinner, cake, Ice Cream, and watched frozen (well sort of)  By the end of the movie all of the kids wanted to go out on the tramp and jump so they did.
She got a purple scooter, a cute beach dress for when we move down to so cal, pet shops, a barbie, a tangled play dough set and a few other things.  I 'm so bummed, the one thing that I wanted to get her so bad didn't show up in time...That was the Kindered Egg surprises.  Hopefully they will come soon.
She got to spend the day shopping with my mom who is by far one of Callie's favorite people.  She gave her a blanket, and some other things like paper, stickers, nail polish and markers.  It's funny because those are all of Callie's favorite things.  My mom just knows her so well.

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

Show and tell, Field Trip, and Rad Kids

For School Callie had the Opportunity to be the MVP where she got to take in a poster all about her and then her classmates wrote her cute little notes about how much they like her.  She got to choose where she wanted to sit one day.  Then the last day she got to take show and tell.  Guess what or WHO she decided to take for her show and tell...Yep, Conrad!  Seriously I thought that was the cutest thing ever.  They got to ask a few questions...but basically he started telling them about gum and ninja turtles.  She really is the cutest big sister and Loves her brothers.
Next that day we headed to Currans field trip at the Dentist.  Conrad was more into checking things out and wanting to participate than Curran was.  But that's just how they are.  Curran was a little freaked out about the dentist even though he has been before  He did love the new toothbrush he got though and didn't even care that it was pink.
From there, we went back to the school and went to Callie's RAD kids demonstration.  RAD kids is where they teach the 2nd graders self defense.  It was pretty awesome to listen to what she had learned and about how we need to have a code word for our family and then to see her try to defend herself against this guy.  You could tell she was a little freaked out but still held her own.

Gosh, Life is getting busy with having kids  in activities and 2 in school..

Curran's Christmas Program

Better late then never on this one.    Curran little Christmas program was so cute.  He had the cutest little line with 2 other kids from his class for the program that went like this.

"I took a lick of my peppermint stick
I thought it tasted yummy
it used to be on my Christmas Tree
but I like it better in my tummy!?

He did such a good job and was so cute during the whole program.  I sure love this kid and what and who he is becoming

Valentine's Day

We had a fun Valentine's Day this year.  It was  SUPER busy day.  First of all Callie wanted to make a Doc McStuffin's Valentines box and then she made Tinker Bell Valentine's and Curran wanted to make star wars angry birds for his class.  So we got all those made and sent to their classes. Clint and I heart attacked their doors with 5 things we love about them and when they woke up in the morning they were so happy and excited to see the hearts.
On Valentines I had to go into Callie's class and do a craft for their party.  I dropped my boys off with my mom so I didn't have to take them into the class plus after her party I had a meeting with one of Callie's teachers and I didn't want to have to take them.  So after the party I went and met with him for an hour. Then went home for 20 minutes, went and picked Callie up then went to go get the boys...Needless to say my plans fell through for dinner so we decided to get Panda Express for Dinner and had a picnic on the floor.  Clint got all the kids balloons, and Callie and I flowers.  She was SOOOO excited to get flowers from her daddy.  I love making memories with my little family.

Thanksgiving 2013

This trip down was kind of a last minute decision.  A buddy of Clint's growing up passed away in a tragic surfing accident in Hawaii where they never found his body.  Clint decided he really wanted to go to the funeral and then decided that we should just stay down there for Thanksgiving.  Which I am never opposed to going down there.  We left late on a Friday afternoon and got in, in the middle of the night.  The kids are always great in the car.  They always wake up in Vegas to see the lights which they love!  I stayed awake this entire drive down, which is pretty rare for me.
We got up the next morning and took the kids straight down to the beach and Clint took them over to the jetty's to see the "ophi."  I took a ton of fun pictures of the kids on the beach that day which we ended up using for our Christmas Card.
The funeral was later that morning.  We left the kids with Clint's Dad.  This was one of the neatest funerals I have ever been to.  He had many non member friends who spoke and then they tied it into the Gospel at the end when his Dad and Brother spoke.  Kirk had recently just come back to the church and was embracing it.  The missionaries were at the funeral knowing there were going to be a lot of non members there.  Because of the missonaries being there and all the non members they had about 7 referals which I thought was absolutely amazing.
After the funeral they had what you would call a "paddle out"  Where surfers from all over swam out on their boards to do one last tribute to Kirk.  They formed a giant circle and were out there celebrating his life.  It was pretty amazing to watch it and watch the giant circle form out in the ocean.  Clint was really glad that he participated in it.
We had the chance to go to the "Mormon Battalion" in Old Town San Diego,"  It was a pretty amazing experience.  It's interactive and it has you feel like you were apart of what it was like to be around at the time the Mormon Battalion went on.  The kids thought it was pretty neat.  We walked around some of the old homes and buildings there as well and they were absolutely fascinating.
We had Thanksgiving at Clint's sister Jills house.  She has an amazing home.  She is an amazing host and a great Cook.  The kids had so much fun together.
We took Callie down to the mall one afternoon and she LOVES to spend her time at the Disney store and Bath and Body Works looking at all the lotions and hand sanitizers.  As we were on our way out she saw Santa and wanted to go say hi to him.
We really did have a great time and so glad we were able to be there for Thanksgiving.  It's been several years since we have been there for Thanksgiving.
