Sweet Apollo
So we just love our sweet dog Apollo, but it is time to say good bye! It became more stressful to have him around than I ever thought it would be! He kept eating the babies binki (at least 10). He would swipe them right out of his mouth and take off with them! He was waking the baby up during naps. He annoyed the kids, but they also did love him a great deal. He was up at 6 in the morning every day and when I have a baby that doesn't sleep at night I really don't want to be rolling out of bed at 6 to put the dog outside. Then there were nights that he wouldn't even go to bed so I had to listen to him cry until sometimes 2 in the morning! Don't get me wrong, he was a great dog, and we loved him, and I know he was JUST BEING A DOG, I just couldn't handle trying to take care of him and three little kids at the same time! It took a lot for me to admit that I couldn't handle it! But I figured I needed to do it for my sanity! We have talked to the kids and explained to them that he will go to a good home! We had some tears from Callie but she now understands and is ok with it! We will miss the sweet pup and are sorry that it came to this. Love you sweet little guy!
Half Marathon
So I decided to sign up for the Halloween Half Marathon! I must have gone crazy or something to have done something like this. Running for me has always been something that i HATE! I started signing up for 5K's a few years back and they were fun but I never trained very hard for them! But this is something I can't just go out there and say oh well it's just 13 miles. That's exactly what it is, 13.1 miles! So with that comes A LOT of training. I have six months to train for it, and I am going to need that 6 months to train. I figure that if I can up my miles by at least 2 miles every month by the time the race comes I will be ready!
It has always been a goal of mine to run a half and I figured what better time to do it than now! It is going to take me out of my comfort zone and push me to a place I have never been before, but I am excited for the growth that is going to come from this. I know it is just going to teach me that I can be strong and accomplish anything I want too.
A few of my good friends were running the race too and I thought I didn't want to be left out just because I didn't want to run, so I thought I would just jump on it and decided to join them. They are great examples to me and I can't wait to run and finish this race with them... Here goes nothing Lisa, and Tiff!
