So... I win the retard of the year award

So last night I was on my way home from a play that I went to in Pleasant Grove. I jumped on the freeway at A.F. main street to go one exit. As I merged onto the freeway I was talking on the phone to my good friend Krista and didn't signal. Well, just seconds after that I see lights turn on behind me. I thought "oh crap I'm getting pulled over for not signaling" I told Krista I had to go because I was getting pulled over. I pull to the side of the road and pull out my liscence and insurance and I am looking for my registration. All this time I am looking I am waiting for him to come to my window. Well he pulled about ten yards behind me, I thought that was kind of weird. I am still waiting and I see him turn his light off and I thought, well I don't dare pull away in case I am still in trouble and I didn't want to be a fugitive of the law. Well next thing I see is a black car merge onto the freeway right behind me....then it hit me, " I am such a retard" He didn't even pull me over, he pulled another car over just ten yards behind me. Well because I was just ten yards in front of him with my hazard lights on he pulls up behind me and comes to my window and asked if everything was ok. Well I start to laugh with my registration and liscence in hand and say; I thought you were pulling me over" He chuckles and said no I was pulling the car behind you over. I bet he had quite a story to go home and tell. WOW! I have got to be the biggest idiot ever.

BFF'S

Our Kids love to play together. Each kid is two months apart. Aubrey is two months older than Callie and Tyler is Two months older than Curran. It is so fun to watch our kids play and grow together

We're Home

Curran Finally got to come home last night. We are so excited! It was a very long week and the poor kid did not like being touched after being there after a couple of days. But after being poked over ten times, 2 chest x-rays, many breathing treatments, iv sticking out of his head, the re-adjusting of the iv about 5 times, his monitors constantly falling off and having to reattached, being tangled up in all of his cords like 5 times a day, not sleeping being woke up, monitors going off constantly, having to change his sheets 5 times a day and sometimes within 5 minutes of each other...he is finally home and we couldn't be more happy. We will have to continue to do breathing treatments with him until he is ok on his breathing but are so glad to have him home.

We just wanted to thank everyone for their kindness and the help that was given. We truly have the best family, friends and neighbors. We truly had help from the Lord in comforting us at this time as well and his hand in this was a blessing. Thanks again to everyone for everything.

Update on the Kiddo's

I am sitting here in the Hospital again tonight (Saturday) because Curran still cannot keep his oxygen levels up while he is asleep and he started to fever last night again so that made them think that there might be an infection somewhere. They decided to do another chest x-ray and saw something in his lungs make them think to believe that he has Pnemonia plus the RSV. Poor little guy! Clint and I have been rotating with him...I stay the night and Clint stays most of the Day. I go home so I can sleep. My mom took Callie today so I could go home and shower and sleep. We are hoping and praying that he does well tonight so we can go home tomorrow. They have started him on breathing treatments to see if it helps him with his oxygen levels. The only down fall to that is that the medicine they use for the treatments is like caffine in a baby and it makes it so he has a lot of energy he can't burn and makes him really anxious. He was in a really good mood tonight which is a good sign. He wanted to play and throw everything over the side of his bed. He still is not eating or drinking well.
...On a good note, Callie is doing really well. She is on Antibiotic and is back to herself other than the runny nose and cough. She likes hanging out with Grandma and Daddy. We really love all of the nurses that we have had and they are so cute with him.

My Poor Sweet Kids

Curran's Story

So Wednesday afternoon, we were having a regular day when all of a sudden Curran started coughing out of the middle of nowhere and then about two hours later he had a fever of like 103. I thought ok, there is junk going around, not going to worry about it...well the next morning...(thursday) he was lathargic, wasn't eating, breathing really hard and had thrown up a couple of times...Well Clint mentioned how hot he was getting and his breathing was hard, that was when I decided to bring him into the Dr. Our apt. was at three o'clock and by five thirty we were in the hospital getting him checked in. His Oxygen was too low, he wasn't peeing and he had a high fever.

Shortly after we got in they needed to take blood and start the IV's. Because my kids are just a little bit chubby... and with him being dehydrated they could not get a vein in his arms. They tried three times in the arms...That was when they decided to try the head ( keep in mind we did this almost exactly three years ago with Callie, iv in the head and all). They stuck in the first needle blew the vein...stuck in the second neddle blew that vein...they decided to give him a little break...Well third times a charm as far as the number of nurses it took to try to get a vein and finally getting the neddle in. They got it in but could not get enough blood.

Well...we got the iv in then they had to suck his little nose out to test for RSV...they had to do chest X-ray's and more temp's...he as exhausted from crying and fighting so hard when they were trying to do the iv's. He was so tired that he quite fighting them after so long...it was so sad! Well his oxygen at this point would not stay normal so then they had to put him on oxygen and he hated it more than he did the iv sticking out of his head. Well we finally get to settle in after everything has calmed down but he can't relax. He was up every half hour last night and on top of that his monitors kept going off because of his oxygen kept dropping and they came in at three and needed more blood because they one's they took earlier clotted and didn't work out. They tried pulling blood from the spot in his head but couldn't so they tried the foot couldn'tget enough again so they didn't it friday morning in arm again and they finally got blood that time.

It was a very long night and when the Dr. came in at eight thirty this morning she said he hasn't made enought improvment and his oxygen is too low he needs to stay another night. Oh man am I tired and lonely with nobody to talk to and bored...so my mom came and then Clint and Callie came and that lit up his little world as miserable as he was feeling.

All Curran wanted to do was hold Callie's hand...It was so cute He just wanted to be able to see her...It was like they were having this cute little connection where he was telling her "I know you understand me so stay with me. "Callie and I left and went to my moms to nap and then as the day went on she was not feeling well and hadn't been all week. So... (continue to callie's story)

His offical diagnosis is RSV and Brochiolitis

By Friday night he was feeling a little better. He talked to Daddy on the phone and played with toys and sang songs with me. This is a huge improvement...so we are crossing our fingers in hopes that he can go home tomorrow morning.

Callie's Story

So Monday she started getting really hoarse...and I thought oh she is just tired or the cold weather...whatever. Tuesday she wakes up with Croupe...Alright I know how to fix that, keep her home, put a humidifier in her room and lot's of sleep and liquids...she was fine, the croupe turned into a normal cough, runny nose. Well by thursday she woke up fevering and was really lathargic. Which is not like her...When I took Curran to the Dr. they told me that if she isn't feeling better by today (friday to bring her in). After Callie and I woke up from our nap at my mom's I just knew I needed to call she was just not acting normal. So I called at four tirty and the office closes at five. They told me to bring her right in and getted her checked. They checked her and said well she has an ear infection which they gave her a shot of antibiotic right there in the bum (poor thing). That was when her emotions hit her and she just wanted to cry. They took her oxygen and it was a little low but for percautions they decided to send her in to get a chest x-ray. She was so cute when they did it...she just sat there and was such a big girl... I wish I had my camera. I got a call back from the Dr. shortly after and low and behold she has acute Bronchiolitis and in the first stages of pnemonia. Poor little girl! They put her on an antibiotic and let's hope that things don't get worse. It is so sad because as a mom you want to be there for your kids always but I can't be in two places at once and right now I need to be with Curran. Pray for us that our little family will get better soon.

Relief for Haiti

As I have been following the stories of the Earthquake in Haiti, it just breaks my heart. I think to myself what can I do? I wish I could just go and be there to comfort those that need the comfort at this time, but I know that I can't. I do know that they are holding a national "Wear Red Day for Haiti on January 19. " Also you can support them by donating to The Healing Hands for Haiti Foundation by going to: http://www.healinghandsforhaiti.org. The people there have lost their homes, a wife a child and baby, a husband, a friend.
I know times are hard for a lot of people right now but when you think about it, you still have A LOT more than they do. Do what you can and Help out.

Sledding Baby

Clint took Callie sledding today and she had a blast! They had a Daddy Daughter Date! Then they went to lunch. He called me while they were there and told me to listen to her as they went down the hill. It was so cute, she giggled the whole way down. I am so glad for such a great Husband that will take our kids out to do things like this.

We had a fantastic New Years spending it with our good friends the Kings! We started the night out by eating dinner all together then we went home put the kids to bed, had a sitter come over and then we went back over and played games the rest of the night. All it turned into was a laughing session for Lisa and I. We both become crazy after ten o'clock at night. What a blast though...Thanks you guys for a great night...it was a blast!

I am really excited for this next year. I have so many things that I want to change and accomplish in my life for this next year. 2009 was a really hard year for me so I am hoping that 2010 is a blast!

We had a wonderful Christmas. We decided last minute we were going to pack up and take Christmas to Califorina. There was no snow but it was really great to be there anyway. The kids had a great time. It was great to spend time with family. Our kids love spending time with Grandma and Grandpa, so thank you Janet and Joe for allowing us to come and invade your space.
