Eagle Mountain Dump Fire

These picture were take from my driveway
So we had a fire here in Eagle Mountain about 2 weeks ago!  It was a little insane around here for about 3 days.  It started on a Thursday and they finally had it 100% contained by the following Tuesday.  It was so crazy to sit and watch the smoke move and turn from white smoke to black smoke, and then to see the flames out our bedroom window!  We were very fortunate that we weren't evacuated nor could we even smell the smoke where lived because we were sitting North East of the fire and the wind was blowing north west of us.
Clint and I were going to be gone all day saturday and we decided just to be safe in case we were to have to evacuate saturday and we weren't home that we would pack clothes and our valuables up and take them with us just to be safe in case something dramatic happened while we were gone. But all was well and we didn't have to be evacuated.
The following Tuesday I went to a park down in Saratoga Springs with a friend. Well little did I know all the fire fighters had set up camp in this park and when we got there they were just cleaning up camp and taking off to the next fire.  There was a guy that had a bunch of bags and wasn't able to grab all of them in one trip so I walked up to him and asked him if I could help him carry his stuff over to the truck.  I felt that was my way of saying Thank You for all they did for our city.  I know I wasn't really effected by the fire, but they helped so many of our fellow neighbors and friends I felt it was the least I could do to show my Thanks and respect for the hard work they did and are still doing.
We also have been trying to teach the kids the value of prayer and that our prayers can be answered and so with all the fires, we have been praying for rain, and for the firefighters, and just yesterday when the kids woke up and saw that is was raining they thought it was pretty exciting and cool that Heavenly Father does answer prayers!

Softball

I played on a softball team this year in a women's leauge.  It was so fun!  I have never played on an all womens team.  I played with some girls that I have played against and with since I was 12 years old.  We ended up taking second in the leauge!  Unfortunetly on the day of the tournament we were missing 3 key people and that hurt.  It's fun to see how far all of us have come...Alot of the girls played college ball, a bunch of the girls are coaching or have coached at one point since we all graduated, and now all of us have kids except one.
Now to explain the bruise.  I figured since I am so prone to being hit by a ball I would post this one. I was playing in a co-ed softball tournament with clint and was playing first base and a ball bounced up and hit me in the knee.  With in seconds of hitting me, it blew up to the size of a golf ball, and a few days later looked like the picture.  It acutally got much worse than this but I didn't get a picture of that.  It has been two weeks since I was hit and still have a bruise.  I guess I should start using my glove

Zoo

You have to have one of these pictures of a kid whenever you go...it's just tradition
We went with my good friend and her kids Rylee and Boston!
The cute polar bear that was Curran's absolute favorite.  It was really fun for the kids because the Polar Bear was swimming back and forth right in front of the glass, and then we walked over to her den and got to watch her eat.

Father's Day 2012

So I am super late on this one!  But I just wanted to tell Clint how much I appreciate all he does for our family!  He is such a good Daddy!  He has little jokes and silly things he does with the kids...I think with each kid we have had he has become a better father and husband.  I love you Clint and look forward to MANY more memories with our little family!

Conrad playing Baseball

Conrad LOVES baseball...Most days you will find him carrying around a bat and a ball!  In fact he said "ball" for the first time today!  Clint gave him a tee and bat for his birthday...I guess you are never too little for a tee set right?  Oh and we are training him to be a lefty...Well, not really, but he does favor his left hand a lot more than his right.

Happy 1st Birthday to Conrad

I seriously cannot believe he is 1!  It blows my mind.  This past year has gone by soooo fast!  His party was sooo much fun.. I wanted to do a little bit of a beach theme.  So I made a surfboard cake for everyone to eat and for him I made a beach ball.  I then put a bunch of fruit in sand buckets, and the shovels were the scoops.  We had lot's of friends and family there which always makes it more fun!  His favorite present by far was the tee and bat that Clint gave him.   Happy Birthday little buddy!  We sure LOVE you!

Summer List

So I know this is a month late, but Clint and I sat down with the kids and made a summer list of things we wanted to this summer!  So here you have it...Some of the things that are on our list are; smores up the canyon, going to a Padre game, water fight, and lot's of swimming!  So far we have been able to accomplish a few of the things on their list.  The kids LOVE marking it off when we do it!
