These pictures are in no particular order, but I just wanted to tell
about this most amazing experience that I had to go run So Cal Ragnar
with some amazing people. I was the captain of this team, and with that came A LOT of planning. From securing hotels, vans and then finding a team of 12 people willing to do it. And boy can I tell you, that I think we went through at least 20 committed then people backing out and then asked about 40 people just secure 12 people. But all of the stress and worry was so worth it.
We left Thursday before the race. There were 5 of us that drove down in my van. Me, Grant, Jessica, Krista, and Adam. We got in kind of late, went and had dinner with the whole team, went grocery shopping and then went and picked up the vans, then went back and decorated our vans. We were in van 2 so we didn't have to be up as early.
We had all 6 of us in one room, now that was entertaining. Mer, jess and I all slept in the same bed, Grant and Adam in another bed and Jason on a cot. I slept between Mer and Jess and there were some pretty loud flatulence's in the night that we all had a great laugh about in the morning. (you become pretty close to those you share a van with REAL FAST)
Our van didn't start running until about 11:30 am. Every exchange is so fun. They changed the course from last year so there were more beach runs this year which made it so fun. My first run was at 1:45 pm. My next run was at 2 am and then my last run was at 10 am.
My last run was incredible. It was right along the beach for just over 3 miles and it was so cool because it was right along a beach city with condo's, shops, restaurants, surfers. It was so cool. Then it ended right of the beach at a marina where there were some really cool sand jelly fish.
Several hours later we finished our race at the marina in San Diego. This race was the best ever. Everyone on the team was incredible.
After the race we took the vans back up to Huntington, got ourselves a hotel, went to dinner and then ice cream. We were all so tired that I completely lost it on our way to ice cream, I totally peed my pants. Seriously so funny.
We drove back on Sunday and had even more fun in the car. Being together for 96 hours was incredible and I would do it again tomorrow.
